  • How much does it cost to hire the hall for an event?
    These are the current prices, per hour, and the returnable booking/damage deposits. ​ £21.00 - Main hall, local rate* (deposit £50) £24.00 - Main hall, non-local rate. (deposit £100) £12.50 - Main hall, rate for non-commercial regular users. Commercial rate £16.50 £27.50 - Commercial Rate (business users). Meeting room can be included on request. (deposit £100) £12.50 - Meeting room, local parish rate(deposit £25) £20.00 - Meeting room, non local rate(deposit £25) Late night events are charged at £30 per hour (deposit £200 ​ Notes: * Local rate applies to residents of Betley, Balterley and Wrinehill parish. For caravan club events please ask. Typically £350 Friday afternoon until Sunday midday. ​ There are special rates for some exceptional events, for example, overnight camping with all weekend hall use, long bookings of over 12 hours and extra concessions for charity functions.
  • Can I hire the hall for a regular booking?
    Of course, we host a wide range of clubs and groups at Betley village hall. Please contact Judy Bettley-Smith on betleyvillagehall@googlemail.com or 07794 335354
  • How large is the hall?
    The main hall is approximately 17 metres long by 9 metres wide with 4.5 metres clearance to the roof. (That's large enough for a full size badminton court with space to spare!)
  • How many people can I have at my event?
    There is a licence maximum of 200 people for dance events or 130 people seated at tables.
  • Is the kitchen fully equipped?
    The kitchen is equiped with a sink, fridge, large cooker, microwave, dishwasher, water boiler, hand sanitiser and generous areas of all stainless preparation surfaces. There is cutlery and crockery available but please indicate you wish to hire the kitchen when making your booking.
  • Can we use outside caterers at our event?
    Yes, many private catering companies have been used at events at the hall. The serving area is a separate room connected to both the kitchen and the main hall and has outside doors with easy vehicle access, allowing materials and provisions to be transported directly to the kitchen . When outside caterers are employed for larger numbers of guests we ask that they provide cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. We can however provide some crockery and cutlery for private hirers and smaller numbers.
  • Is there car parking available?
    The hall has a large gravel parking area at the south end of the hall large enough for approximately 50 cars, more if parking is organised. There is additional space for a small number of cars on the tarmac near the main doors. The car park is freely available for users of the hall and other site facilities like the tennis courts, bowling green and playground.
  • Can I hire a bouncy castle for my child's party?
    Yes we regularly host children's parties and many local bouncy castle hire companies have set up in the hall. Please factor in time during your booking for it to be put up and taken down.
  • Are there disabled facilities?
    The main hall is accessible throughout, there are disabled toilet facilities and there is space at the front of the hall for disabled parking. If you have a specific disability or need please discuss when hiring the hall and we will do our best to accommodate it.
  • Can we hire a band or DJ for our event?
    Yes of course! We have a separate stage which can be used for performances or by musicians/bands. The stage is equipped with lighting and a PA/sound system. There is access to the stage through the stage doors from the hall, one of which connects to the rear external door allowing direct loading of equipment to the stage from the car park.
  • Can I have alcohol at my event?
    You are welcome to bring alcohol for your guests - please discuss this with the booking clerk when booking your event. Please note for any event involving the sale and purchase of alcohol there are legal requirements and you as the hirer are responsible. You will need to apply for a Temporary Events Notice from the Borough Council. Please see more information on the Government's website below: https://www.gov.uk/find-licences/temporary-events-notice
  • Can we hold caravan rallies at Betley Village Hall?
    Yes. Caravan Club rallies are held at various times in the year. Approximately 25 vans with tow cars can be accommodated in the large car park at the recommended Caravan Club spacing. The hall facilities (kitchen, toilets) can also be made available for an additional cost.
